Hi there, I’m Alana Spencer and I’m from the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii. Comradery: ‘KÄM-ˌRA-D(Ə-)RĒ’ — a feeling of good friendship among people with a shared vision or common goal. Now that you know how to pronounce comradery, here’s what it means to me. Coconut Comradery is my collection of photographs and occasionally, things noted. Its content is rooted in the tropics and inspired by the immediate connection I feel with others who mutually adore an islander’s way of life. It’s a space to document the places I go and people I meet. Through my work, I’ve made new friends and collaborated with brands by way of photography, graphic design, and social consulting. I travel as much as I can, though I’ll always love coming home to my hometown to capture and create from here on the North Shore of Oahu.
