Originating from Tasmania, I gained an immense appreciation for the beauty of nature at a young age. My photography journey started in 1977 at the ripe old age of 16 and I’ve been on a visual journey ever since, with magazine expeditions to all manner of places, to a now thriving photographic art business. It’s cool making a living doing what I love all these years. I was initially inspired by Max Dupain, for his unusually high contrast beach scenes, usually in black and white. And by Peter Turner, also famous for his high contrast, colorful images. This inspiration is reflected in my “Shadowland Collection”. An ongoing collection of images involving shadows, silhouettes and often, massive amounts of color. After 40 years creating pictures, I still feel I’m honing my skills. It never really ends. I don’t plan to ever stop.
