Damien Clavé is a French artist installed since 2008 on the island of Réunion. It is on this island that he discovers the joys of surfing and the beautiful landscapes that will make most of his pictorial inspiration. He first explores acrylic painting techniques on various substrates such as recycled wood or sheet metal. He likes to give a vintage side to the scene he represents. In 2017, he discovered vector graphics on graphics tablets. This change of medium profoundly renewed his creativity. He then launched into a series of posters on Réunion surf spots. Strong off his success, he continues with mythical spots like Nazaré (Portugal) and its giant wave, or Teahupo’o (Tahiti) the magnificent. Damien’s vintage and modern style gives a timeless touch to all these places.
