I've been an artist since I could hold a crayon and I've been surfing since I was 15. For me, the ocean and art go hand in hand, so it's only natural that my art reflects that which I love. The ocean, mountains and nature in general inspire my work (along with the human figure and human condition) there is a never ending supply of inspiration from these two subject matters.

I graduated from Oregon State University with a BFA in Graphic Design with a focus on Fine Arts. Design is rapidly changing with the advent of technology and everyone is able to work on computer programs. I take pride in my design work because I focus on making it great and not pieced together at the last minute. In this cookie cutter world of art and design, my focus is to stand out among the rest and create the best work I possibly can for my clients and employers. I've worked in-house and on freelance projects with such companies as: prAna, Rip Curl, Redsand, Haro Design, Dragon Optical, Nike Swim and many more. I try to diversify myself in an ever changing multi media landscape with print design, illustration, videography, paintings and more.

My paintings are inspired by both the human condition and the environments that surround us. I am also very intrigued by how we deal with each other as humans, both on a personal and physical level. It is a subject that has been dealt with in art for centuries and will keep being an important subject matter for as long as humans exist. I've done everything from t-shirts, board logos and board graphics, to print design and video within the surf industry for the past 7 years. I love designing, but my true love is drawing and painting. To be able to do that and have people respond to my work and come to art shows and even commission work is a real blessing. There are so many great artists within the surf world right now, it's really an exciting time for art within the surfing community.

I started a small t-shirt company called Glide with my friend Mark Connelly. Our goal is to make art driven shirts that are cool and have some soul behind them. We also donate a portion of proceeds from the sales of the tees & hats (and my art that is sold as well) to Pro Peninsula they are a non-profit dedicated to strengthening individual and community efforts to protect the natural environment throughout the Baja California peninsula. I think what they do is very important, and it's one way I can give back to the environment that gives me so much inspiration, joy, excitement and endless waves.
